Hey,
Myself and Laura recently got new flashguns and remote triggers and hope to be doing more shoots soon and playing around with some off camera flash stuff. The new flashguns and triggers give us the freedom to be able to take the lighting more places than we could with our previous constant lighting we had as it was bulky and not really made to be portable. Also the constant lighting was older and 1000w bulbs, very hot for models to be in front of for any length of time. I can't see us using them much from now on, if at all.
We also picked up video led lighting with 160-led lights. It also has colour filters you can slide in front of the light so hopefully those will come in handy for some stuff. I have also been playing about with a macro ring flash my lovely Laura got me for my birthday recently (41 now, getting old lol).. really liking it for close-up macro shots, nice lighting from it.. still to try it with some close in head shots but I'll do that soon and see how i get on, its not a powerful ring flash so it may not be any good for that but we'll see, might still give a good effect.
On another note, I'll be back at the hospital in Edinburgh end of April to talk about my MRI scan results on my hip, looking like it is going to lead to an operation to shave away extra growth wthin the left hip ball socket so that will probably have me resting up for a good wee while... guess I better get some shoots done soon lol
Hope everyone else in D.A land is well,
Bye
John x
